I Will Survive

I've learned a lot of things about myself this past week. First, I can't do push-ups. This morning I woke up from a terrible dream that I was extremely overweight. I will admit I'm not a twig but I can't be too heavy since my doctor tells me I am at a healthy weight, but my dream scared my booty off (I wish that was literal). So, as soon as I peeled my eyelids apart, I searched "pinterest" for several different exercise routines I could realistically do. The first was ab exercises. One of the exercises I had to cut the time in half because of the intensity. I almost started to cry from the pain, causing me to believe my dream wasn't too far off. The next set of exercises involved shaping my legs and butt to be bathing suite worthy. When all was said and done, I went to my mother, bouncing up and down on my toes, pretending to be pumped and ready to fight the world.
"I feel like I can do a hundred push-ups," I said, then dropped to the floor and got on my hands and feet. I started to lower my body until... SMACK... my elbows buckled and I face planted the floor. My dear sweet mother then laughed. So I learned I can't do push-ups, but to the astonishment of myself (and I'm sure my family members), I am actually going to start exercising.
The next thing I learned is that I will be able to keep my (future) husband alive. My fiance came over from work and we went to our most visited place... my living room. There we watched T.V. and well... watched more T.V.. Realizing we should do something else, Troy went to the computer to do homework, at the same time mentioning he hadn't eaten anything other than a half a piece of old left over french toast. I took that as his subtle hint for "I'm starving, woman, so go make me food" (side note- Troy Hooper has never been that harsh and demanding, but let's be real, he's a man and he wants food). I went to the kitchen to see what we had. My outcome of searching was.. NOTHING.. It was at that moment that my heart dropped and I thought, "How could my mother make us dinner this past week without going shopping?" "How does she do it?" "I'm about to be married and I have no idea how to magically make food appear." I finally realized, after minutes of looking for some easy bake food, that I would have to learn to put different ingredients together and that is how food is prepared. So I grabbed pepperonis, crescent rolls, cheese, and pizza sauce, then combined them into a fantastically made crescent pizza rolls... And immediately as I put them into the oven to be cooked, my dear sweet mother came in with some dinner she had bought to cook for all of us. Even though that night I was stuffed beyond belief, I can be comforted that I will be able to make Troy dinners and keep him alive, but if not.. well... we'll just eat dinners at my family's house.
The last thing I learned is that I am never expected to do things all on my own. Our Heavenly Father has shown His love and support for me.Troy took me to institute on Wednesday and we learned about receiving revelations. We also learned that God knows ALL things. That is how He can always help us. Even in things like schools and jobs. Even job interviews and what to wear. God knows what we need and can help us. The only reason I've been able to keep straight A's for as long as I have, is because God knew my desires and helped me on tests, homework, and anything else required for my classes. God will get you to where you need and He wants you to be.

Good luck out there in this crazy world.

Let It Begin

I've admired bloggers for their ability to write stories of their lives and make it sound interesting. I decided that since I want to be a writer I could start by blogging and ultimately be able to make any story interesting. My hope is that those who read this blog will be able to see that they aren't alone with the challenges they have in their lives. My main focus that I want all readers to realize is that everything I have comes from my Father in Heaven. I plan on taking different experiences and putting them in each post. I will exaggerate and some experiences will not be posted in chronological order.
Before I start this blog I want to share a little bit about me. I was born and raised in Arizona and spent most of my life in the little town of Chino Valley. I then moved to Utah and that's where I am now and think I will live for the rest of my life. I got engaged November 22, 2012, Thanksgiving Day. My sister was proposed to the same exact time, right in front of my entire family and some extended families. We are excited to be able to share that special day. My fiance's name is Troy Hooper. We are getting married and sealed for time and all eternity in the Mt. Timpanogas Temple March 9, 2013.
I am a college student and am planning on attaining an English Education degree to teach in a high school. I want to use the knowledge I learn in the English courses to be able to write novels for young and old. I also want to pursue music if I ever get the chance. I play the piano currently and I also played the alto-saxophone and the violin. I very much enjoy singing, playing, listening to, and dancing to music.
I am just an ordinary girl hoping to catch the attention of all the ordinary girls out there and let them know that they are never alone. Enjoy!
